Pamper Your Skin This Summer with a Hydrafacial at Relâche Spa

I’m aging. My skin just doesn’t look like it did 20 years ago. Heck, it doesn’t look as good as it did 5 years ago. Living in Florida my skin is always subject to the harsh sun and sometimes I forget to use sunscreen. When I was in Georgia I used to visit a local doctor’s office for an occasional facial, but since moving here I haven’t found an office to get my monthly facial. I think one of the reasons I haven’t follow up on finding a place for medical-grade skin care treatment since moving to Florida is because I really am not a fan of doctor’s offices. It wasn’t until last month that I realized that I can have all the latest scientific medical-grade treatments of a Hydrafacial® facial, but in the setting of a relaxing spa atmosphere at Relâche Spa located at Gaylord Palms in Orlando.

Hydrafacial (21 of 21)

Although this treatment was made popular by A-list celebrities, the Hydrafacial® is integral in remedying fine lines and advanced signs of aging. The treatment is effective for improving the overall health of skin and is beneficial to all skin types. It was an experience for me as it was somewhat different from my routine facial. The resurfacing procedure provides cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and hydration, including Vortex-Fusion® of antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid.

Hydrafacial (5 of 21)

The Hydrafacial® is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that delivers instant results. The procedure is soothing, moisturizing, non-irritating and immediately effective. It includes treatment to the face, neck and décolleté, combing deep cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, antioxidant protection and hydration. This treatment also includes Red LED Light Therapy to address redness or hyperpigmentation of the skin or Blue LED Light therapy to address bacteria that causes breakouts.

That’s all the technical stuff and it’s valuable information but I want to share the experience with you. Unlike any doctors office I have ever been to my treatment started with a locker where I found the most comfy robe to change into. I snagged a glass of ice cold citrus water and then had my choice of dry or moist steam room to enjoy and open my pores. This is something you will not get at all when visiting a medical office.  Once I sat and relaxed for a bit I sneaked over to the rain forest shower. Once I was finished I went and sat in the Tea Lounge to enjoy a warm cup of tea and light snack.  Shortly after I was greeted by my therapist and we headed back into the room for my Hydrafacial® facial. She was great at explaining everything to me and what the differences were with treatment than that of a “normal” facial.

Once I was on the table she talked me through the entire procedure as we went from one step to the next. I loved that she knew just when talking was necessary and when I was relaxed and lost in the music. The biggest bonus – the massage. You do NOT get a massage when you have these treatments done in the doctors office, at least none of the offices I have gone to. The entire experience was relaxing, pain-free (although one of my friends said it was a little uncomfortable when she had it done in South Florida), and the junk she pulled out of my face was…gross. However, it was amazing the change I saw immediately.

The following day I expected to break out like I normally do and my therapist warned I might but believe it or not I didn’t. I did have some acne she worked on while I was there that I was having a hard time getting rid of but it cleared fully within 2 days of my treatment.

  4. I have heard that living in FL can be tough on the skin. I go in for a facial tomorrow here in San Diego – so excited since it has been way past due! It sounds like you had a great experience here and I’ll need to look it up if ever I’m in Florida.

  5. That is a beautiful spa! One of my favorite spa treatments is a facial – it’s so relaxing and the benefits last for weeks!

  6. I had never heard of this treatment before. I usually get just a regular facial (or DIY) but I’m interested to see if anywhere around me carries this treatment. Thanks for the thorough review!

  7. I’ve had probably 3 facials in my entire life. I think I enjoy them more than getting a massage. I love pampering my skin and making it more hydrated feeling. Skincare > makeup …even though I do both haha 🙂

  8. We are heading down there for Thanksgiving this year. I would love to take a couple hours for myself and try a hydrafacial.

  9. One beautiful looking spa, I need to go again soon as I could do with some relaxing time.

  10. This place looks very calm and inviting. I have never been to a spa so being able to see inside helps me to decide if i want to go. I have anxiety so the unknown always freaks me out. their packages seem to be a bit high for me but after looking at other places its about right. Im happy you njoyed your stay

  11. This would be really cool to try out. It’s always so nice when you discover a new place for self-improvement.

  17. This spa is wonderful. I wish they have a branch near me. I need pampering and they can satisfy my need! Hehe

  18. I lik e that it is for all skin types.
However this would be too much for my budget, unless someone wanted to treat me.
I’ve never had one of these. One day I’d love one.

  19. Oh man, a nice spa trip would really do me good. I’d love to indulge just a bit.

  20. What I wouldn’t give to go here for a day. I have Spinal Stenosis, and I bet a good rub down and all that pampering would do me wonders. I am so drooling over this. Thanks for sharing.

  21. This spa looks incredible! Everyone can use a little pampering now and then! I don’t know if anyone does this type of facial by me but I will certainly look into it!
