Get Involved with Unilever brightFuture #ShareAMeal

Disclosure: I participated in the Unilever brightFuture #ShareAMeal blog program as a member of One2One Network. I received compensation but all opinions are my own.

You may have seen my post about the upcoming #ShareAMeal Twitter Party I’m hosting tomorrow, but I thought this cause deserved a more in depth post about what YOU can do to help. It’s always eye opening when you hear the statistics about the children who are hungry in your own country. We often see and hear about those in 3rd world countries who are going without food, but for whatever reason those children in our country aren’t talked about as much in the media.  As I mentioned in my earlier post 1 in 5 children in AMERICA are facing hunger EVERY DAY! What does that translate to?

15 million children a year that don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Let that sink in.

15 million.

Hungry.

There is something you can do to help. It won’t cost you anything but a few minutes of your time. Unilever has partnered with Feeding America with the Unilever’s brightFuture #ShareAMeal campaign and in the past five years they have been able to donate more than 30 million meals to those in need. Now they are calling upon YOU to help so they can give millions more. It’s easy to do, just create a powerful visual tagging it with the #ShareAMeal hashtag Unilever will donate one meal to Feeding America this holiday season.

Whether you create a “Plate a Selfie” with the hashtag on a plate in lieu of a photo of you or if you decided to take part in the Foodstagram Blackout featuring an empty plate, that is a meal for a hungry child from Unilever. Not feeling social savvy?

Buying Unilever products in-store or online. When you buy a participating Unilever product like Dove or Hellmann’s in-store with their coupon delivered in the Sunday paper on November 15, or on Amazon Prime Pantry, Unilever will donate one meal to Feeding America®.

One way or another, let’s put an end to hunger at home. Get involved.

Hellman’s is the only brand I use and I find that a good portion of my everyday items are Unilever.
