Fun Family Time: Family Game Night Ideas

Families have a hard time getting together to spend time together as a lot of parents have to work. One way to get some quality family time is scheduling a family game night. This allows everyone in the house to interact, spend time together, eat some snacks and games can be educational! Yay, win for everyone.

Board games are a great way to make family game night happen! Do you have a collection? I do. When picking out games for the family make sure you have games that everyone will like. If you have to purchase everyone their favorite game over a period of time to make sure everyone is enjoying it, do it. Invest in family time, it’s worth it.

Who decides which game you play first? Write down all the games on small pieces of paper and write down all the names of your family on small pieces of paper as well, put them in a hat and have someone draw a paper. Keep it fun. If you draw a game play that game first, if you draw a person make them pick a game that’s not their favorite, it can be their second favorite but not their overall favorite game. I only suggest this as it gives an opportunity for diversity; we all need to change things up.

Some board games I would recommend would be Monopoly, electronic or regular. The regular version promotes counting, math, which is educational, the electronic monopoly teaches the way money is spent today, with credit cards. Pictionary, it is fun, interactive and uses imagination! Bring out the inner kid in yourself, have a good time and laugh.
