Over the years I’ve heard complaints regarding the cost of health care. Having always had health insurance I never fully appreciated the gripe. With insurance all I had to come up with were co-pays and deductibles. I was less worried about how much a medication or procedure was because I was not responsible for the bulk of the cost. They could charge a million dollars a prescription for all I cared. What a fool I was. I never really thought about people who did not have health insurance.

I now realize how fortunate we were to not have been burdened by inflated health care costs. Ever since I left corporate America we have not had insurance and have had to pay out of pocket for doctor visits and medications. Let me just say that reality can really take a bite out of your wallet. How can these people sleep at night charging so much?
