As a My Coke Rewards member I was aware of this great opportunity, but if you aren’t currently a Rewards Member you may not be and I want to tell you a little about it. It’s their “Pay It Forward” program and it helps parents, mentors, relatives, friends and the community support young people achieve their dreams through nominating them for exciting apprenticeships with remarkable mentors. Nearly anyone can nominate aspiring youth between the ages of 16 and 21 from now until March 2nd (youth can even nominate themselves). With each nomination (up to 5) you are entered for a chance to a win $5,000 sweepstakes.
Four lucky nominees will be rewarded with the unique and exciting opportunity for an apprenticeship experience with one of the country’s most respected celebrity history makers: business mogul Magic Johnson; chairman and CEO of BET Networks, Debra Lee; or hip hop artist and philanthropist, Common.
I took this opportunity to nominate…
My son, Ethan.
Why? Because he’s my son! Well, also because he is a good boy and he deserves to be rewarded. He has gone almost 20 years with never having been in a real fight, without getting drunk or experimenting in drugs, without staying out all night, and without being suspended from school. He graduated from high school and plans to go to college this next year after establishing residency in Florida and he has been working for the same company for nearly 2 years without ever getting disciplined. He is a great brother and a terrific son (although I wish he would do housework WITHOUT being asked). He is a nearly perfect in every way but he is also somewhat naive and I would love for him to be able to be mentored by Common because Ethan has a passion for music.
I love the idea of paying it forward and would to hear who you would nominate for the second annual Coca-Cola “Pay It Forward” program.
My “Pay It Forward” Prize Pack Giveaway
Now, let me “Pay It Forward” to you! One lucky reader will win the following:
· $100 Amex card to help you and your family “Pay It Forward” in the New Year
· Coca-Cola “Pay It Forward” journal
· Coca-Cola “Pay-It-Forward” t-shirt
Disclosure: The prize was provided by Coca-Cola Company. The Coca-Cola Company is not a sponsor, administrator or connected in any other way with this giveaway. Gift cards were received, but the opinions are my own.

I would nominate my niece because she works so hard to raise money for kids with cancer and others who are under served in our community. She has also participated in lock of love. She is a good person who I would love to see rewarded.
