Burning Love Honeymoon Mishap Moments

Burning Love Honeymoon Mishap Moments

When you think of a honeymoon you probably imagine it with that dreamy lens picturing a soft wind blowing with a couple snuggling on white sheets and a loving and longing gaze into each other’s eyes. Everything perfect. Sensual. Sexual. However, the reality is that not all honeymoons are created equal.

Take mine for instance…after being together for over 3 years and engaged for 2 years it was a spur of the moment decision to get married at Christmas. I wanted to surprise him and looked online for a cute small town to get married by the justice of the peace and spend the weekend in a cabin in the woods. The reality? Don’t believe everything you read online. Not only was the courthouse disgustingly dirty, but the Justice of the Peace never showed up and we had his clerk do the ceremony. It didn’t get better from there either…

Honeymoon Woes

Our first romantic dinner of our honeymoon was to be prime rib at the lodge. The lodge however turned out to be a hole in the wall that served opossum disguised as prime rib. There was absolutely nothing good about the dinner, but being the young, in-love couple we were we didn’t let it ruin our evening. So, as we drove down the mountain road heading to our cabin (in the pouring rain) the shoulder washed out and we found ourselves in the ditch waiting on a tow truck. About four hours later we got back to our cottage in time to get a couple hours sleep, both too exhausted to enjoy our new union.

I believe those battles made us stronger and have set the tone for our marriage and I’d do it all over again.

I guess it could have been so much worse. Did you know that approximately 80% of pre-menopausal women with a urinary tract infection (UTI) have had sex within 24 hours of contracting the UTI and that women having sex for the first time or who have intense frequent sex after a period of abstinence are at risk for honeymoon cystitis? Now that’s a honeymoon mishap in my opinion! I can’t imagine a honeymoon living with pain and discomfort and not being able to make love to your hubby. Isn’t that what the honeymoon is for?

Cystex® PLUS Urinary Pain Relief Tablets and Cystex® Liquid Cranberry Complex to the rescue! When you grab something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue be sure to grab something to help ease the pain and discomfort of an UTI, they are both over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Don’t cut your honeymoon short, they have an antibacterial agent that helps to contain the progression of the infection while easing the pain and discomfort while you wait to see your physician. The dual-action formula of Cystex® PLUS Urinary Pain Relief Tablets not only helps numb the pain and burning sensation with an analgesic, but it also contains the urinary antiseptic methenamine to help control the infection. You can find Cystex® products in mass market retailers nationwide including, Walmart, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, as well as online retailers. Visit the Where to Buy section for more locations.

The good news? Now that you’re married your risk of UTIs drops!

The more often you have sex with the same person the more often your body will acclimate to the other person and the frequency of the infections will be reduced.

The honeymoon is over. Now the good stuff begins!
