Game Day Appetizer: Avocado Ranch Dip and Chips

Game day is this Sunday and as I mentioned earlier this week I’ve been making all our family favorite recipes and experimenting with some new things for the annual Super Bowl party.  Every year I do a trial run of different dishes and I also try to add new things to the menu.  This year we are adding the Avocado Ranch Dip to our repertoire. It was a huge hit when I made it last week to experiment.  I served it with tortilla chips when we had tacos for dinner and the guys loved it.  They liked it so much they added it to their tacos instead of the sour cream!  I think when I make it again this Sunday I am going to add a little twist and add some crumbled up bacon.

The base of this recipe calls for the Classic Ranch Dressing by Naturally Fresh® because it’s made with their own buttermilk and it has real herbs and spices so that you can really taste the great flavor.  It’s equally important that it contains no monosodium glutamate (MSG), no artificial thickeners or preservatives and no artificial colors or flavors.  When I make my dips I try to choose ingredients that are better for you and Naturally Fresh® meets this criteria.  I haven’t tried their new Lite Ranch, but if you are looking for something with half the calories of the original you might want to substitute this instead.

Avocado Ranch Dip

Ingredients

1 c. Classic Ranch Dressing by Naturally Fresh®

1 Haas avocado

2 tbsp. fresh cilantro

3 slices of crispy bacon crumbs (optional)

Directions

In a small bowl mash avocado and add chopped cilantro.  Mix in ranch dressing and stir.  Add bacon (optional) and garnish with cilantro.
